We are slowly settling into our new place here in San Diego. Yukine and I found a great park not too far away from our apartment. She LOVES the slide. It must be her favorite thing to do right now. She plays so much she usually ends up passed out by the time we get home.

Outside with Tio-chan

Yukine's favorite place to be is outside. We have been enjoying some lovely weather the past few days. I had to throw in the pictures with Tio-chan. Yukine is pretty good with her most of the time, but she does pull on her tail sometimes. We are working on it. Tio is great with Yukine, so patient. Usually the cats follow us everywhere we go outside, but sometimes we follow them!

Painting

The first time I showed Yukine the paint and paint brushes she couldn't get enough! She really seems to concentrate while she is working. I always make her take her clothes off when she wants to paint...it's fine while the weather is warm.

Basket!

Yukine really loves playing in her basket with her stuffed animals. That's where they go ne-ne (sleep)...The cats happen to love napping in there as well. It is a popular spot in the house!

Yukine is getting pretty good at putting her boots on all by herself. She is just getting ready to go outside and play.

Summer!

Summer is officially here! Rainy season is over! Yukine is wearing one of her favorite outfits. This is a yukata. This is typical summer wear, very light and cool. She LOVES her yukata.

Rinka-chan and Yukine

Our friends Hanji, Sachiko, and Rinka-chan came to visit. Yukine and Rinka really had fun playing together. We all spent most of the time like this watching the two girls hang out.

May 21

Yukine was playing "ne-ne" with her blanket. She is getting so big! She looks so grown up in the 2nd picture.

1st haircut

I finally gave Yukine her first haircut! It was kind of difficult for her to stay still, but overall I think it turned out pretty well.

The weather has been gorgeous lately...so we decided to get out and go for a drive. If Yukine looks a bit concerned it is because there is a big, noisy waterfall to her left. I think it was a little too big and too noisy, we didn't stay very long. I have been trying to take more pictures lately, hence Tetsushi actually being in a photograph.

Yukine watching her favorite TV show. It is the one time of day she stays fairly still.

Yukine has been really into brushing all of her stuffed animal's teeth. Too bad she isn't so enthusiastic about letting me brush her teeth! She is growing up fast. 1 year and 5 months old now.

Yukine was sick last week with Roseola...we are all glad that she is feeling better now and is back to her usual happy self. Today she was playing with my hat and checking herself out in the mirror. It's been a nice mellow day at home.
